Just imagine...waking up with a smile next to the person you love on a sunny Sunday morning...
...and now imagine baking luscious almond chocolate brownies, sharing each bite together, each moment, each laughter while still in your pajamas...
Yes, I am a romantic. But romance doesn't have to start and end in bed.
Each moment spent doing something you love can be romantic. Each moment spent doing something nice for someone you love can be romantic.
Today I'm taking you into my kitchen. We're going to bake the easiest almond chocolate brownies. Because preparing your own food once in a while is romantic. Because preparing your own food is one form of love...love toward your ingredients, love toward your body.
To me, love is energy that creates miracles. Yes, I believe in miracles. Not because I have my pink glasses on. But because I have witnessed and tried love's kindness, motivation, inspiration, healing, and strength through my own life experiences.
Even now I'm smiling thinking about these experiences, the crazy - unimaginable - magical -mysterious - wonderful - beautiful ways in which life operates.
But I'm straying away from the subject at hand, which is these delicious almond chocolate brownies.
I like this recipe. It's easy to follow. Simple ingredients. Rich taste. Healthy benefits. Little mess to clean up afterwards. Lots of compliments to accept from friends and family. (wink, wink)
I like baking and cooking because it gives me a sense of control. I know what goes in the food that I'm eating and that makes it much more delicious. And it gives me pleasure - pleasure of creating something from scratch, pleasure of seeing smiles around the table, pleasure of challenging myself to learn something new.
I encourage you to try preparing a meal at home at least once a week. And if it doesn't turn out the way you wanted, don't give up. Try next time. Every time you'll get better and better.
